Advanced or weapons seminars may be attended by any student once they have attained and demonstrated an acceptable level of awareness and proficiency with ukemi (receiving techniques).

Seminars are designed to provide an atmosphere of learning through constructive practice and application of techniques. Every seminar is different, depending on the style of the seminar instructor and what he or she wishes to focus on. During a seminar, techniques should be practiced in the manner in which the instructor is teaching so that the student can profit from a different approach.
